Weird Phobia.

I had a really weird thing happen to me last night. I was lying in bed with a tummy full of my mums yummy friday night meal after having read some more of my book (really good one called 'The Woman In White' by Wilkie Collins - penguin classic .. incase you were interested!) and decided to snuggle up under my duvet and go to sleep. A very normal activity. Thing is, when you are sleeping, you have no control over your dreams.

Dream - A series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.

So there i was, dozing off curled up in the fetal position (facing the wall of course!!) and the next thing i knew was that i had woken up with a start, my heart pounding and hands clammy ... the clock finally came into focus and read 2.48am and i finally figured out what the hell had caused me to wake up like that.... a series of really vivid dreams ..... all of which were the ones that i used to get the whole time when i was younger (basically recurring dreams). They had literally all happened one after the other.

I wont bother to explain/describe them because im 99.99% sure no one is really interested in them but the weird thing that happened was that i had 'remembered' my very bizarre phobia that i only get when i actually see it and every time i closed my eyes i couldnt see anything but 'my phobia' ....

Now the question you all must be thinking now is 'what is this strange phobia she has?'

I shall now proceed to answer that as best as i can.

Huge Sheets of Tarpaulin.

It really really freaks me out!! I first discovered this when i was with my family in our bungalow in Norfolk. It's right by the norfolk broads and a 10 minute walk from a boat yard.

So there we were one shabbat and we went for a walk in the afternoon and passed the boat yard which we had done many times before but this time i was suddenly covered in goosebumps and got this really weird head rush feeling. It went away the minute i looked the other direction but i was sooo freaked out by the boats that were covered up.

which reminds me ... That was the same time that i also realised my other weird phobia..... big boats out of water. If you've ever seen one, they are just really scary!!

anyway, back to my tarpaulin thing ...

So whenever i pass things covered in tarpaulin (if its flat on the floor its fine but if its covering something and is showing the shape of whats underneath it really freaks me out - as i already explained) i get this uncomfortable goosebumpy head rushy feeling ..

It didnt help when the advert came out for some bank thing and it was with everything covered in huge sheets of brown paper - swimming pools, cars, plane etc ... and it was always on every channel! - no idea anyone remembers it or knows what im talking about though ... (but when does anyone every know what im talking about anyway!!)

Still, so that was it.

My weird phobia.

The other recurring dreams are just as strange!

[just as a bit of an afterthought .... i have no problem being under tarpaulin!!!!]
