Why Exercise and Being Healthy is Bad For You...
About 15 minutes ago i think i faced death in the form of a black hyperactive labrador.
I had to drop something off this morning and decided to take the more healthy option and walk seeing as its right nearby and the weather was actually nice for a change.
On my journey back, i come round the corner and saw a man half way down the road by a car with a very bouncy black labrador... they proceeded to cross the road, so i also did to be on the opposite side to them - but luckily they went inside a house.... In reality... not so lucky!!
As i got closer to where they had gone in, they both suddenly reappeared, crossed the road back to my side and walked towards me and within a second, the hyperactive dog spotted me, growled very menacingly bearing his teeth before bounding towards me at full speed extremely threateningly. Fortunately, the owner responded really quickly and properly yelled at the dog to get back to him and after a couple more seconds the dog came to a halt .. still growling... and went back to the owner who grabbed onto its collar.
Meanwhile, i had tried the approach of saying 'OH MY GD' quite calmly but loudly follwed by an attempt to cross the road to avoid being mauled, but the dog had started to follow me into the road so i just went back to the same pavement.
When i reached the owner, he was pretty apologetic and just said quite a few times 'im really sorry about that' to which i had responded 'dont worry, it would only have been the second dog attack id encountered!!' (i think i was extremely high pitched!) and swiftly marched away with jelly like legs.
A bit of background to the story just to explain what i meant there....
when i was 7 we were at our bungalow in norfolk and i basically got speed chased across the field by a very protective alsation (german shepherd) whos only goal was to bite me whereever he could!
since then, i had a massive massive phobia of dogs but it got less and less over time and by now, im just wary of big dogs off leads..... and my remaining fear was justified by todays experience!!
Anyway, thought i would share that while it was fresh on my mind!!
