My Lifes Meaningful Nonsense.: Cake anyone??

On friday afternoon, i came home from uni and spent the next hour and a half baking a perfect cake....apple raisin and cinnamon filling surrounded by amazing pastry. The house was smelling amazing and as i was going to gaby and yaels for dinner and didn't want to carry the cake over, yael came over to pick up. In the kitchen, we all stood around the cake admiring its beauty and me, yael and dan were all joking around about scenarios that could happen like what if yael had a car crash and she wasn't injured but the cake got destroyed - what would i feel etc...

Anyhoo - as yael was leaving, i ran upstairs to give her something else and on my return.. the following events had taken place:-

The cake had been carried into the hallway by dans room
a slight breeze due to walking had shifted the paper covering the cake and the paper began to fall off
Human nature kicked in..... yael reached for the piece of paper...
Plate tilted....
Freshly baked cake tilted too.......
Freshly baked cake fell off the plate and dan attempted to catch it
cake crumbled and collapsed around dans hands
SPLAT onto the floor
No cake for dinner!

I emerged from upstairs to some guilty looking faces and followed their stunned gazes to the cake remains splattered all over and despite the destruction, did find it hilarious (and therefore took photos... see below) and as it so happened, two other friends who came for dinner wanted the cake so much that yael took them to sainsbury's and my house for the ingredients and recipe and after dinner, they remade the whole cake so in the end we got a great story out of it and still got to eat the cake :D
